CPA – HOLLYWOOD, FLORIDA

CPA wanted to manage local tax and accounting office on behalf of large, stable accounting firm headquartered in Manassas, VA. Our clients are small businesses and their owners. We are expanding our business in Florida and we wish to hire an experienced CPA for our office by the end of November.

We are seeking someone with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the following areas: financial statement preparation, G/L, bank reconciliation and AR/AP. We also require some degree of actual business acumen in your background, and some experience managing the work output of others as you manage the daily activities and workflow of the office, and manage personnel – accounting and sales activity. If you are experienced in other areas of accounting, that’s a plus – please let us know that when you respond.

Candidates for this position must be diligent, articulate, present well, be ambitious, be reliable, willing to pitch in during high-volume periods (i.e. tax season) and a team player. You must be self-directed, able to work without supervision, and, be able to deal with ambiguous situations occasionally. You must be able to represent our firm in a pleasant, competent and professional manner.

Initially, 25 hours per normal work week will be required, with up to 65 hours per week required during tax season. As the office gains more clients in the near future, a regular (40+ hour) work week will be required during most of the year, with the obligatory longer work hours required during tax season.

SALES EXECUTIVE – BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

Salespeople/business development representatives wanted to call on prospective customers for our offices in Manassas, VA and Fredericksburg, VA. Our operating footprint covers the DMV metro area. We are expanding our business and we wish to hire two more new people in the next few months.

Responsible for bringing on new clients and expanding sales of the firm’s products and service to existing clients.

Business development representatives will receive leads from our telemarketing staff, but are required to prospect for most of their business on their own through telemarketing, networking, etc. Just as a heads-up, if you cannot successfully generate leads and appointments on your own, this is not the position for you.

Must be excellent communicator, articulate, present well, be ambitious, have good outbound phone skills and be a strong salesperson with previous experience in this area. Must represent firm in a pleasant and professional manner. PLEASE NOTE: all of our employees are required to pass a complete background check.

Base salary with commission.

TAX PREPARER/ACCOUNTANT

Tax preparer/accountant wanted at large, stable accounting firm headquartered in Manassas, VA. Our client base covers the whole DMV metro area. We are expanding our business and we wish to hire another two team members by the end of this month – a junior accountant, and a senior accountant.

The position requirements are as follows:

Become familiar with the firm’s policies and procedures.

Prepares income tax return forms for individuals and small businesses:  Reviews financial records, such as prior tax return forms, income statements, and documentation of expenditures to determine forms needed to prepare return.

Interviews client to obtain additional information on taxable income and deductible expenses and allowances.

Uses company tax software to input client info and checks for correctness.

Consults tax law handbooks and/or bulletins to determine correct procedure for preparation of atypical returns.

Occasionally verifies totals on forms prepared by others to detect errors of calculations or procedure.

Calculates form preparation fee according to complexity of return and amount of time required to prepare forms.

Low to moderate overtime required throughout the year.  High level of overtime required during tax season.

Interact with IRS/Power of Attorney for transcripts & settlements as directed.

Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or office manager.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

Individuals at this level normally have a solid understanding of accounting, bookkeeping, and tax preparation with 5+ years of experience in the tax preparation field but may not have obtained a college degree that includes a significant concentration of accounting or tax courses.  A formal degree in accounting/tax, or, a CPA designation, or, CPA candidate would be a plus.  Proficiency with Drake (1040) and/or Lacerte (Business) professional tax software and QuickBooks accounting software are also a plus.  Successful candidates for this position must be diligent, articulate, present well, be ambitious, be reliable, willing to pitch in during high-volume periods (i.e. tax season) and a team player. Business services firm needs a combination receptionist/administrative assistant at their corporate headquarters in Manassas, VA. Our firm provides many services to small and mid-sized companies, but our main services are taxes, accounting and business payroll.

PAYROLL CLERK

Payroll clerk wanted at large, stable payroll and accounting firm located in Manassas, VA. The position requirements are as follows:

One to three years of experience with the following activities:

Collecting, calculating, and entering payroll data in payroll software program/Continuously updates payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers/Regularly prepares reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages/Determines payroll liabilities by calculating employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer’s social security, unemployment, and workers compensation payments/Issuing paper payroll checks and electronic (ACH) deposits.

A degree is not required for this position if you have the above experience, but if you have obtained a 2-yr or 4-yr college degree that includes a significant concentration of accounting courses, that would be a plus. And if you have any experience in tax preparation, that is also a plus.
